Clinical Curriculum
PGY 1
establishing roots
The PGY 1 year is designed to help you establish roots in the field of emergency medicine, with core clinical rotations and ample time in all of our EDs. Expectations in the ED focus on developing procedural skills, excellent foundational patient care skills, and utilization of evidence-based medicine to create individualized treatment plans for patients.
PGY 2
Growing and Branching
The PGY2 year is one of exponential growth along with career exploration by branching into some of the many exciting areas of concentration in Emergency Medicine. With focused Pediatric experiences as well as two elective blocks in this year, residents have ample opportunity to explore pathways if fellowship opportunities are of interest.
PGY 3
Thriving and Leading
Our senior residents are leaders in our program - teaching, mentoring, and clinically leading on shift in the department. With specific leadership coaching and administrative training, residents will be primed to step into leadership roles after graduation .
