Our residency faculty are a dedicated group of physicians who have joined together to create a collaborative training environment at TriStar. Our residency leadership team, core faculty, and adjunct faculty focus on resident education and mentorship, while modeling superb clinical care and leadership skills. Faculty members have a broad range of interests, and are dedicated to shepherding residents as they explore multiple fields and examples of successful work-life balance solutions.
Meet our Core faculty
Carmen Wolfe, MD
Program Director
​
Dr. Wolfe was a Canby Robinson scholar at Vanderbilt University Medical School, and then trained at the UCLA - Olive View EM Residency in Los Angeles, CA where she served as a chief resident. She was previously APD and core faculty member at Vanderbilt University, developing a niche in medical education. In August 2021, she joined TriStar GME to found the EM residency program at Skyline Medical Center and serve as the Director of Experiential Learning at TriStar.

Josh Justice, MD
Associate Program Director

Dr. Justice grew up in middle Tennessee and attended medical school at UT Memphis. He completed his EM residency at UT Memphis as well, and then went on to join the core faculty of his residency program. After serving as the medical director for Regional One in Memphis, Dr. Justice came to join our team at TriStar EM as APD.

Craig Sheedy, MD
Associate Program Director
​
Dr. Sheedy attended the University of Arizona for undergraduate education where he was a member of the NCAA National Championship diving team. He completed his medical degree at Vanderbilt University, then continued on as an EM resident at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. After working for several years in Arkansas, Dr. Sheedy returned to Nashville to work in medical education with TriStar EM.

Marshall Hall, MD
Chair of Emergency Medicine, Skyline

Dr. Hall is a graduate of Toledo College of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Kentucky where he served as an Academic Chief Resident. Dr. Hall serves as our Medical Director and Chief of Emergency Medicine. Additionally, he serves as Medical Director for TriStar SkyLife – TriStar’s air medical transport service. He lives with his wife and three kids just north of Nashville in Franklin, TN.

Heather Barnett, MD
Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine, Skyline

Dr. Barnett is a Nashville native and graduate of university of Tennessee Health Science Center. She completed her residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She lives with her husband, four children, and dog in the West Meade area of Nashville. When she is not working with our high acuity patients at Skyline, she is frequently enjoying a hike with her family and Percy Warner Park. Medical Interests: Resident education - She is excited to train the next generation of EM residents in her hometown.
Michael Hasty, MD
Chief of Emergency Medicine, Centennial

Dr. Hasty is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and went on to complete his residency at Indiana University. He lives with his wife, 4 kids, and their 2 golden retrievers in the Green Hills area of Nashville. They take advantage of Nashville’s amazing Greenways as a family, enjoying walks and bike rides.
Academic Interests: behavioral health, administration, documentation, procedural sedation, and pain management.
Michael Hayoun, MD
Faculty Physician, Toxicologist

Dr. Hayoun is a graduate of New Jersey Medical School and completed his residency at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He then found warmer weather as he completed his Medical Toxicology Fellowship at the University of California – Davis. He lives with his wife in the Bellevue are of Nashville where they enjoy visiting Percy Warner Park along with local distilleries and coffee shops.
Academic Interests: toxicology, disaster, radiation, and addiction medicine.
Nkem Ezeamama, MD
Faculty Physician

Dr. Ezeamama graduated from George Washington University School of Medicine and completed her residency at Carolinas Medical Center before joining TriStar Skyline. She lives in the Green Hills area of Nashville.
Academic interests: trauma recidivism, intimate partner violence
Caleb King, MD
Faculty Physician
​
Dr. King is a graduate of West Virginia University Medical School. He completed his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he served as Chief Resident. He joined TriStar after and lives in the Edgehill area of Nashville. Dr. King enjoys kite boarding, traveling, and takes advantage of the many close by hiking trails.
Academic interests: procedural competency, ultrasound-guided peripheral access
Blaise Maceachern, MD
Faculty Physician, Ultrasound

Dr. MacEachern graduated from Mercer University School of Medicine and went on to complete his residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He lives with his wife, two daughters, and son in the Hillsboro Village are of Nashville.
Academic Interest: Point of Care Ultrasound
andrew harrison, DO
Faculty Physician

Dr. Harrison is a graduate of the Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his EM residency at Hackensack University Medical Center, and now practices at TriStar Skyline Medical Center.
Academic Interests: physician efficiency, medical practice in resource limited settings, EM Boards preparation strategies
Amanda Derington, MD
Faculty Physician, EMS

Dr. Derington graduated from East Tennessee State University, and completed EM residency and EMS fellowship at Indiana University. She was a faculty member at Vanderbilt for six years before joining our TriStar team as EMS Director and core faculty member.

Joe Spinell, DO
Faculty Physician, Associate Medical Director

Dr. Spinell is a graduate of Lake Erie Coll of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He serves as a member of the TriStar Skyline Process improvement committee.
